Publisher's description:
In this second volume we continue the description of the different phases of the history of western Tradition. The undersigned, along with the collaborators of the Veda Vyāsa Maṇḍala, has maintained the same critical approach of the first volume, this time addressed to the medieval period, that we consider as the acme of western civilization. This nicely surprised our readers from India, who are used to the usual falsification of publications in English which persists in defining as "dark ages" the era of John Scotus Eriugena, Charlemagne, Saint Bernard, Arnaut Daniel, Peter Lombard, Albert the Great, St. Thomas Aquinas, Dante and Meister Eckhart, just to name a few.
Through the reading of this new collection of articles, it is possible to follow the attempted foundation of a initiation-led complete tradition, under the aegis of the new Christian religion, expression of a conscious elite and under the guidance of high-ranking personalities of undoubted inner realization. The plan took inspiration from the ancient Roman Empire model, the only true backbone for a traditional renewal, which would have brought forth the knowledge and the initiatic hierarchy in both a religious and a social form. The grandeur of the project cannot be denied despite the failing by the Holy Roman Empire in the practical realization of that plan, also due to the structure of the ecclesiastical form of the exterior religion which was proven inadequate and, over time, increasingly unreliable.
